An experiment to make shopping and buying coffee more convenient is growing in New York.
The store is a combination of Starbucks Pickup and Amazon Go. The pickup feature allows a customer to pre-order in the Starbucks app and pick up their beverage at the counter in-store. Amazon Go Just Walk Out technology allows customers to scan items when they are placed in a shopping cart or cart so they can walk out of the store after they have already paid and without having to go through a checkout with cashiers.
The store also has a modern lounge with tables that have USB ports and power outlets. The store offers the same extensive Starbucks menu that includes cafe-style items like croissants and sandwiches. The adjacent Amazon Go Marketplace offers an assortment of food options such as drinks, salads and prepared sandwiches and snacks.

Looking for hassle-free convenience
Stores are designed to provide convenience and convenience to customers who have busy days or want a place to relax without having to interact with others or cashiers.

To enter the Amazon Go marketplace, customers can use the in-store code in the Amazon app, Amazon One, or a credit card. They then shop on the Amazon Go marketplace by placing items in their virtual shopping cart. When the customer is done shopping, they can enjoy a Starbucks drink or a fresh item from the Amazon Go Marketplace. Once they leave the store, customers will be charged.
Starbucks has long sought to make its stores more convenient and less time-consuming for its customers. They pioneered mobile ordering and also opened pickup-only stores from 2017. In this case, customers can only place orders through the app, for in-person pickup. Many locations have drive-thru, which makes a trip to Starbucks more convenient from your car. Some of its locations are cashlessdesigned to test the popularity of mobile orders.
Rivals have replicated what Starbucks did with their innovation for convenience and ease. Dunkin’ Donuts (DK) – Get the report from Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc. often follows Starbucks menu items, adding refreshments or similar sandwiches. It also started using mobile ordering and delivery services to compete with Starbucks.
A new store is planned
Starbucks and Amazon did not reveal the results of their first joint location. The first store opened in mid-November 2021 also in New York between Park and Lexington avenues.
There are now plans to open a third Starbucks Pickup and Go location. The new store’s location and opening date have not been revealed as it is still in the planning stages.
Not everyone may be open to the idea of cashless, cashier-free grocery stores and cafes, but there’s no denying that Starbucks and Amazon are still among the first to test the future of tech waters. At least using an app, Starbucks won’t misprint your name on your cup!
