Amazon: Solution or Contributor to Seller’s Cash Flow Problems?

Cash flow problems are part of the life of small businesses, regardless of their profitability. For online sellers, marketplaces can exacerbate the problem through their payment practices (not immediately releasing sales proceeds to sellers).

So when Amazon announced a webinar on Monday titled “Enabling Growth Through Improved Cash Flow with Payoneer,” two salespeople cast a cynical eye on the company’s practices.

“Join this session to learn how our software partner, Payoneer, can help you solve cash flow blockages to unlock your growth potential with a live Q&A,” Amazon said in the announcement.

“If cash flow issues are such an issue, then Amazon should revert to on-demand fund releases,” a seller responded to the ad.

Another seller replied, “Amazon has no reason to do this unless there is a huge need for an incentive due to a dramatic drop in supply from sellers. They can, however, produce a solution in tandem with an approved service and shift the risk to someone else. Adapt or die.
