Colorado police tie up woman on train tracks and leave her to be run over by a locomotive

The Kansas City Star reports that police in Platteville, Colorado have become a Western movie villain about a woman following an alleged road rage incident. After arresting the 20-year-old near a train track, police parked their own car on the train tracks and threw the woman into the back seat of the police car as they went to look for his car – supposedly for a gun, which is honestly confusing because I felt like this country was basically throwing all gun control.

Anyway, while the cops were busy searching the woman’s car for the alleged weapon, a train drove up…and rammed into the police cruiser, where the woman was being held. According ABC News 7 Denver:

The suspect was taken to a hospital in Greeley with serious bodily injuries, according to the CBI. His condition is not known. The train attendant and crew were uninjured.

The train did not derail and is still on the tracks, CSP said. Union Pacific has been notified of the accident.

Well, I’m so glad they clarified that the cops and the train are both fine!
