It’s been 12 years since Death is coming to town-the latest TV vehicle for very weird comedy styles very strange men in The children in the room– landed on TV, reintroducing audiences to Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Scott Thompson, and Mark McKinney’s very particular approach to comedy sketches, wigcraft, and more.
Now the quintet is back on TV finally, with a new trailer that literally sees them rise from the grave that the original Children in the room sketch show was cast in its last episode in 1995. The trailer takes as a setting – what else? – Foley and McKinney playing two jagoff businessmen, McKinney taking a spin on his famous Lorne Michaels Amazon ‘wants’ impression of The children in the room. (Nothing controversial, thoughtful, topical, or in any way gross, of course.)
In fact, there is of them the trailers are out today: a green stripe and red stripe version of the promodepending on how much you want to hear McDonald ponder the existence of a “penis stigma” or see Thompson do…Something vulgar to McCulloch’s knee. However, you might want to check out both trailers, especially since the Green Band replaces some of the guys’ rougher impulses in favor of beloved recurring characters like Gavin, the Eradicator and, of course, McKinney’s ever determined Head Crusher. . (No sign of the Chicken Lady, but we also get a glimpse of Francesca Fiore and a blood-soaked Dave Foley surgeon, so the team is definitely playing at least some of the hits.)
The revival of Amazon KITH was first announced in March 2020; filming began last year after the team came together to write the series. The show that Is is set to make its big debut on the streaming service on May 13.
