The Motorola MA1 was announced at CES 2022 and quickly sold out at Amazon and other retailers. This Motorola-branded wireless Android Auto adapter is once again available for purchase on Amazon.
Update 6/20: One week after being out of stock, the Motorola MA1 is again available on Amazon. It’s still sold by Motorola Voice and ships from Amazon, although the earliest delivery date is now July 5 (in the US) instead of just days away.
Update 6/13: The Motorola MA1 is out of stock again at Motorola Voice on Amazon.
Original 6/12: After the $89.95 Motorola MA1 became available for pre-order in mid-January, this Chromecast-esque dongle began shipping to customers at the end of that month. It quickly fell out of stock at the official seller, and those who wanted this device had to resort to third parties who often sold it with an extra charge.
As of Sunday evening, the Motorola MA1 is back in stock on Amazon from “Motorola Voice” – the manufacturer. It ships from Amazon and arrives via Prime delivery as early as next week.
It’s still not available at Best Buy or Target today. Hopefully this marks the beginning of constant availability to buy the wireless Android Auto dongle and the end of price gouging.

A USB-A cable, which is not removable, comes out of the black washer. After connecting to a car, you pair your Android device and no longer need to plug in your phone to get Auto on your infotainment system. It is intended for older vehicles that do not natively offer wireless Android Auto.
