Penny discounter is presentation Amazon parcel lockers at 47 outlets across Austria, allowing customers to collect their parcels around the clock.
By the end of the year, another 31 stores across Austria will join the initiative, the discounter noted.
Collaboration between Penny and Amazon
Amazon lockers are easily accessible and usually located directly in front of the store entrance area.
The lockers can be used for receiving and sending parcels.
Customers can select the store of their choice as a pick-up point during the checkout process.
Ralf Teschmit, Managing Director of Penny, said: “The cooperation with Amazon brings benefits to both parties and serves to increase the frequency in our stores and to acquire new customers for Penny and Amazon.
“In addition, we can now offer even more service to our customers: they can pick up their parcels at a Penny store near them and then come and shop with us, or customers can see during their daily shopping that they can also have their packages delivered to Penny without any hassle.”
An up-to-date overview of all stores with Amazon Locker can be found on the retailer’s website.
The Amazon locker filter view shows all stores with a locker, Penny noted.
Recently, Penny partnered with ticketing company Cts Eventim and payment provider Epay to offer tickets for music, sporting and cultural events at its stores in Germany.
