UK Amazon Christmas Ads: Loving Dad, Big Foot Dancing


Amazon has come out with its new UK Christmas campaign, unveiling a 60-second TV ad that debuted on the iconic soap opera Coronation Street on Monday.

Amazon’s EU Marketing General Manager, Ed Smith, said of the ad: “We are constantly inspired by the inventive minds of Amazon customers and wanted to tell a story with a different take on generosity and giving at Christmas, and the joy of making something special for someone you love. We are happy to play a small part in creating that joy, but the hero of the story is the love of a father for his child.

Academy Award-winning Taika Waititi directed the commercial, which is part of a national television campaign. Amazon explained: “The big reveal demonstrates a father’s love through his resourcefulness and inventiveness, determined to make his child’s Christmas a magical experience. To coincide with the launch of the announcement, the The Amazon UK Christmas Shop is now open“offering gift inspiration for your loved ones, catering to different budgets. Customers can browse thousands of ideas through Amazon’s Christmas Store.

Amazon is also promoting Amazon Black Friday Week, which will take place in the UK from November 18-28 with savings of up to 40%, with an associated digital ad featuring a kind of winter monster dancing in the snow with an Amazon package:
